Format

Last Name, First Name if known [@username/handle]. “The entire tweet word-for-word.” Twitter, Day Month Year of tweet, Time of tweet, URL.

Example

@NPR. “Congress is on track to pass a short-term spending bill that will prevent a government shutdown tonight at midnight." Twitter, 30 Sept. 2021, 2:06 p.m., twitter.com/NPR/status/1443638386661675020.

 

***Note: For tweets with no title (an image or video), describe the tweet and omit the quotation marks.***

Facebook Post

Format

Author Last Name, First Name or Account Name. Description of Post. Facebook, Day Month Year of Post, Time of Post (if time is helpful), URL. Accessed Date Month (abbreviated) Year.

Example

State College of Florida Libraries. Banned Books Week Censorship Numbers. Facebook, 29 Sept. 2021, www.facebook.com/SCFlibraries/posts/10159242069929627. Accessed 9 Jan. 2023.

Blog Post

Format

Author(s) or Username. “Posting Title.” Title of Overall Website, Posting Date, URL. Accessed Date.

Comment

Such as a comment on a Youtube video, Facebook post, news story, etc.
