Find ArticlesUse this search bar to find journal, newspaper, and magazine articles. Note, not all sources are scholarly. Some may be popular magazines or opinion newspaper articles. Read carefully!

ProQuest DatabaseAn interdisciplinary collection of magazine, journal and newspaper articles. Check the box under the search bar that says "peer reviewed" to limit your results to just academic/scholarly, peer reviewed articles. You can also add more keywords here than when searching for books. Try combinations like:
"generative AI" AND classroom benefits
"natural language processing" AND learning impact
Try different combinations based on the emerging technology you pick and the paper requirements. -
Reference SourcesEncyclopedias and dictionaries (like Gale Virtual Reference Library listed here) can be useful for finding descriptions of technology and how they work. They are less helpful for finding the impact on teaching and learning or the benefits for students in the classroom (try ProQuest or ERIC for those instead).

Assignment Information
To demonstrate literacy in emerging AI technologies, students will:
- watch a tutorial about researching a topic here: https://libguides.csn.edu/research-101.
- read the sections about Generative AI and Emerging AI Tools for Teaching and Learning here: https://guides.nyu.edu/data/llm-research-creative-use.
- use the Library Guide to find at least two credible sources (books, articles, database ssearch) about AI emerging technologies
- write a 3-page paper, double-spaced on AI emerging technologies including the following sections:
- description of this type of technology
- the impact on teaching and learning
- how it works
- benefits for students in the classroom
- include a cover page and references page in addition to the 3 pages of content, for a total of 5 pages; pages are numbered at the bottom
- writing requirements are a developed topic paragraph with supporting paragraphs and clear theme and examples; well thought-out conclusion; free of grammatical errors
- use APA style for citations and watch citation information here: https://libguides.csn.edu/research-101/cite
- must have at least one citation from each of the following 3 sources, for a total of at least 3 citations
- Course textbook
- the sections about Generative AI and Emerging AI Tools for Teaching and Learning here: https://guides.nyu.edu/data/llm-research-creative-use.
- one article or book from the CSN Library as linked on the page (see the "Find Credible Resources!" box).
